Good young adult/teen fantasy/sci-fi/fiction series?!?!?
I'm looking for a good series for young adults? I like paranormal/supernatural stuff, or anything fantasy-ish. I did not like the twilight series, so don't suggest that please, and please nothing TOO girly. I still like some vampire stories, like Vampire Academy, and things like that. Mainly I like reading about a strong main character who is preferably at least a little bit funny. I also only read series books. Any ideas? Oh, and please don't suggest the obvious ones, like twilight, or maximum ride.

I think that the House of Night series by P.C.Cast and Kristin Cast would be perfect. It's about vampires, and it is definitely supernatural/fantasy but it also takes place in present day America and the main characters are really funny. But serious stuff still happens. The first four are out: Marked, Betrayed, Chosen and Untamed. The fifth will come out in March 2009, and there will be 9 books in total. I would definitely recommend the the Gemma Doyle Trilogy by Libba Bray. It is seriously good. It takes place in the Victorian Era but don't let that stop you! There is fantasy, the supernatural, magic, romance, mystery, friendship and so much more. The last one came out the summer of 08 and this is the order: A Great and Terrible Beauty, Rebel Angels, and The Sweet Far Thing. I promise you will not go wrong with either series. I mean, just look at all the reviews - all of those people can't be wrong! Good Luck!

I suggest all books by Tamora Pierce(which are all in series) and all books by LJ Smith. There is also the Midnighters Trilogy(westerfeld), Sweep series(Tiernan), Seer Series(Singleton), Morganville vampires(caine), Magic or Madness trilogy(larbalestier), Ender's game(card), Wake Trilogy(McMann), Power of 5(Horowitz), Magickers(Drake), So You Want to be a Wizard Series(Duane)and Harry Potter(Rowling).
Another author is Christopher Pike. He has tons of series and nonseries books to choose from.
