Holy Crap... All my photos are stuck together....HELP?

First of all take a VERY deep breath. All is well my friend. You may lose one or two but I bet we come out of this with the majority looking fine and just like they were new. Okay, breathing??? Take a Vicodin if you have one and if you have an extra let me have one with you :).

Okay, here we go.

No matter if they are black and white or color, let's just clean them up and separate them in two different sets. One color and one BW.

Step #1) B/W - Get a nice clean photo tray if you have one, something flat, maybe 5 inches or so deep and large enough to hold your largest photo. Go to the local photo store that sells photo chemicals and ask for a liquid called "PhotoFlow" made by Kodak. It's cheap, about 5 bucks. Mix it with water per the instructions. Place the first group of stuck photos (remember only the black and white or the color separately, not mixed.) Soak the first group in the solution for the recommended time to begin with. Don't try to force them apart or pull them apart prematurely. You should eventually see them start to float apart. You can't soak them too long; it will do no harm at all. Soak them overnight if need be. The next morning I bet they slide right off of each other and continue to separate them as they become willing but don't fore them or you may pull the emulsion off of them. Sooner or later they will all slide apart and be single photos again. Once they are, dump your solution and now put the photos back in the tray and start a bath in your bathtub letting room temperature water run into the tray and rinse the photos and tray for an hour or so that you remove all of the solution. Set yourself up some sort of drying rack or hanging rack. You can string a rope or string across the bathtub and hang the pics up with clothespins or the. Let them drip dry and the PhotoFlow solution should help them dry without leaving any water spots. Make sure they are perfectly dry before storing them in archival boxes that are acid free and made for photo storage. Keep them stored inside the house so that humidity does not build up and cause the same problem again. Now use the same exact method to take care of the color photos.
