deteriorating disks in upper back and neck?

hi i am 16 years old and have just been diagnosed with deteriorating disks. i don't really know what do to. i have had this problem since i was 9 years old and its not getting any better. i have had many people say that the only thing i can do is get surgery but that is one of my biggest fears, coming out of it paralyzed. is there anything else i can do or should i just wait and see what happens.

I'm sorry about your deteriorating discs. You are very young to have this condition. At this point I do think you really need to be seeing a qualified spinal specialist (if your not already) that will follow your condition closely. Deteriorating discs really is something you might find that surgery is the only option. And I have to say as a person who is older than you (an adult who is a mother), I have had a couple spinal surgeries and have to say I have come out of it much better than before. I also suffered from very painful conditions. I still stay very active and don't have to rely on pain management. So, I consider my surgeries a success. I will say some aren't as lucky, but you are very young and with good PT should do very post surgery. Again, the key is having a very qualified spinal specialist to follow your condition.

Of course you don't have to surgery, but I would definitely make sure you still have regular visits with a spinal specialist to follow your condition closely.

    You're in my thoughts.

Your checklist is right, benzos are very addictive, and not solid for long term use. No, degenerative arthritis isn't led to via tight muscular tissues; mutually as i understand which you have had "intense muscular lower back soreness" for quite a few years, the kind of difficulty you're describing won't be able to produce disabling spinal circumstances. What it may do it prepare the physique and concepts to have confidence there's a continual situation, and create a continual soreness cycle, and that is puzzling to interrupt. continual soreness is a puzzling beast, and that is totally diverse than acute soreness. in case you smoke: provide up. in case you will desire to look into option treatments which includes acupuncture an rubdown, then you definately would desire to; they have been shown to artwork quite nicely for continual soreness.
