I'm curious about how people feel about Sarah Palin?

On a number of questions about Palin, I have responded more or less like this:

---Palin is intelligent, strong-willed, and has determination. Yes, her inexperience is currently overshadowing all of that, but it doesn't negate the fact that it is true she has potential.

She has the talent, but it is raw and undisciplined. She needs to expand on her strengths and work on her weaknesses. She'll be something one day, though that day is not today.---

But everytime that I put this as my answer, I get a rather large number of thumbs downs. I am curious, am I getting those thumbs downs because I called her inexperienced? Or am I getting those thumbs down because I see potential in her?

Update:

For the record, I am an Obama supporter. I don't agree with Palin on her politics at all, but I do believe she will one day be able to handle the job of the Presidency.

Update 2:

By all means Quincie, you can check my question/answer list.

You will see strong support for Obama, and a willingness to see Palin's abilities.

Update 3:

To Sylar:

Rather reminds me of those guys who were counting down the days until the Olsen twins turned 18. Kind of made me feel dirty that I even knew a guy like that...

I like her. And I was the first to say "You've got to ******* kidding me!!" ..When McCain chose her. But the more I hear from this woman, the more I like her.{except for her abortion views}. ! Plus, you've got to have some respect for the way she has handled the world of crap that was heaped on her. Plucked out of Alaska and in to Washington?? Not an easy task by any means. You people need to give the woman some credit...whether you like her or not.

I feel that Ms. Palin is NOT qualified for the position of Vice Presidency due to lack of experience in a Federal Position and also some outstanding issues that seem to haunt her from her prior position in Alaska. There are still unanswered and unsolved probes into her actions while governing the state of Alaska. I DO believe that the ads, TV Shows (in general) and comedic mocks are NOT in good taste. After all, we should show anyone who is running for such a powerful and high office some respect. The "Tina Fey" thing was indeed "on the money", as she captured her persona perfectly. What is not polite is to mock the woman during her campaign. Rather, wait until the election is finished and then feel free to utilize your rights to Freedom of speech, etc. I really feel that it was extremely rude and

inconsiderate to mimmick, mock or poke fun before the election is actually won by one of the tickets. She did seem to be the brunt of most of the jokes too. Back again to the original question! NO, I feel Sarah Palin is not, by any means, ready to take on this position at this time, ... but, then again, which one is?

She's of no better than average intelligence, and less so for the typical politician. She can't do any better job that Bush in stringing together a coherent sentence extemporaneously. She does a decent job with reading a prepared script, but as a former TV sportscaster that is to be expected. She's a hard-core religious fundie who would not allow a woman to have an abortion even in cases of rape or incest. (I dearly hope that none of her kids ever go through that horror.) She ran on an anti-corruption platform for the Governor's office in Alaska, and then turned around and put in her own brand of corruption with her HUSBAND using her office to pressure State authorities to terminate State employees outside of the established State personnel system's procedures.

As a 40-something politician with several years in office, she's far too old to be "raw and undisciplined." She should have developed those qualities by now. States have made goofy choices for governors -- just look at Jesse "The Body" Ventura in Minnesota a few years ago -- but that does not translate into national office.

She will be tossed under the bus in the aftermath of McCain's losing the election. Failed VP candidates have a terrible political record. In the past 48 years only one -- Bob Dole -- ever got their party's nod for the top spot on the Presidential ticket. The Republicans threw HIM under the bus against Bill Clinton in 1996.

First of all Governor Sarah Palin has more experience than Barack could ever dream of having, look at their records

Before she was a VP electorate she had a 90% approval rating that cleaned out some of the corruption in Alaska. The democrats are shitting themselves that Vice President Sarah Palin is going to expose the fact Barak Obama and the democratic congress caused the Banks to Fail and then filled their pockets in the process then blamed republicans, even Bill Clinton knows this to be true.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ivmL-lXNy64

The Obama bought media demonized and victimized her and her family, just like Joe and anyone else that tries to shine a light on their corruption. The democrats knew that someone with real moral values would connect with allot of voters and Sarah has, as much as the democrats do not want to believe.

btw allot of people on forums bashing Sara Palin have been paid to do it and aren't even Americans, when you trace some of their ip's back alot are a Chinese hacking group called CNC. That is one of the main reasons you are seeing unintelligent hate towards her. I wouldnt be surprised if they were not Obama/Acorn hired.

  • I am an aussie .. and I feel sorry for the vast numbers of decent intelligent americans in the USA .. who will be represented to the world BY sarah palin IF McCain wins...

The woman is a show pony , a clothes horse and America CAN do better than her.

    Both!

You forgot to mention she has a problem with telling the truth, has a criminal conviction, has been found to have violated the ethics in her state as governor, where another ethics charge regarding billing $600.00 hotel rooms for her uninvited children and flights, and worse, changing the official documents.

She also has a cloud over her head about a bidding process to study a pipeline which was rigged for people who worked for her. The $500,000 went to Canada to create jobs!

"Frontiersman Editorial (her hometown newspaper) Said Palin Made Statements That Were "Patently Untrue,"

Said She Had Shown "Unrepentant Backpedaling and Incessant Whining." A

Frontiersman editorial wrote, "Wasilla residents have been subjected to attempts to unlawfully appoint council members, statements that have been shown to be patently untrue, unrepentant backpedaling, and incessant whining that her only enemies are the press and a few disgruntled supporters of former Mayor John Stein." [Frontiersman editorial, 2/7/97]"

Her hometown newspaper who endorsed Obama!

If she's so intelligent she would know by now what are the duties of the Vice President? It's right in the Constitution... or does she want to go rogue if she is elected expand the powers her new office?

Here's her answer to the question of what does a VP do?

"they’re in charge of the U.S. Senate so if they want to they can really get in there with the senators and make a lot of good policy changes that will make life better ."

If she was half way intelligent she would also be able to name a Supreme Court decision other than Roe v. Wade. Here was her answer to that question:

"Well, let's see. There's -- of course -- in the great history of America rulings there have been rulings."

Palin is an extremely strong and intelligent woman. I feel comfortable that she is the governor of my state, in fact I voted for her. I would feel comfortable with her at the helm of the United States as well,

Alaska wins no matter what. Either we keep her as our governor for a few more years, or she goes to Washington DC

Personally, I have the hots for her. I think that she is smart and sexy, but I do not think that she would be good for America or the world if elected.

That may not be the case in 2012 if McCain wins or not though. Then she might be a good choice. But for now, no.

Although I do think it is unfair that she has been picked on when Biden has not been pressed as hard, I do think that the jokes on her are funny as well!

Thick as a plank - you guys are in trouble if McCain gets in.....she could actually be running the US - scary thought.

BTW I live on the other side of the planet and I'm shi**ing myself if she gets in - and you guys through your current President is a screwball.

To informationlouisgreen u have no idea what you are talking about - I am a well informed University graduate on a six figure income and am well versed on international politics to know that you need more than a well cut suit to run what once was (thanks to current government) the super power of America - in the last eight years your country has lost direction, put resources and money into unwanted war - and totally lost the plot on looking after hard working Americans and the disadvantaged. The current government ought to be ashamed of itself and if you guys vote in McCain - you going to get more of the same.

You need to vote in a change someone with values and vision to take your country into the future - you can only do that with someone who is strong and determined and values all people regardless of race and social class.

Get real and maybe take a quick class on world economics and get back in touch with reality.

America needs to get strong again because the world needs her.....ignore it and you will have Russia and China taking over your country..........
