  • Does anyone know this fairly older song (I think the 80's, maybe older)?

    It's a guy singing,

The part of the lyrics that I remember:

    just like a strawberry

my lips are burned baby, all of the time.

And he does a lot of "na, na, na, na, na" followed by "still like it like that."

There's a lightweight boxer who uses this song as a theme song, if it helps anyone know what I am talking about. Sorry, I don't know the boxer's name.

I know it isn't much, but does anyone know what I am talking about?

  • Does anyone know what song I'm talking about?

It's an older song, usually played on oldies and classic rock stations. I don't know what instrument it starts out with, though it sounds like maybe a keyboard...

And the only lyrics I remember (man singing) is:

He's got the action, he's got the motion...

Sorry I can't give any more on clues. Does anyone know the song?

  • Does anyone know the name of this song (old, old song)?

    The lyrics I remember go:

The minstrel boy to the war has gone,

In the ranks of death you will find him.

His father's sword he hath girded on,

and his wild heart slung behind him.

Anyone know the name of the song? I'm fairly certain that is the first stanza, how the song opens. But I don't know any other lyrics.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • Where did this saying come from?

"News of my death has been greatly exaggerated."

I have seen it used a few times, most notably by Captain Picard on Star Trek. I know how Star Trek likes to use classics, as though it shows how much we've advanced in the future.

I just came across a headline that Microsoft is saying the same thing about Zune.

I was just wondering where the saying came from. I figured some classic book or major figure in history, but I don't know where to look to find out. So I'm coming to you guys.

    Thanks for any help.

  • If you found this out about a business...?

If you found out that a union was protesting a particular business, even in another state, would you boycott the business?

Would it depend on why they are protesting?

Would you go out of your way to go to the business to support them?

Would you not care one way or the other, and not change your life over the protest?

Would the location matter? Would you support the union in your own state but not one from another state?

  • Are cheerios bad for dogs and/or cats?

I'm talking specifically about honey nut cheerios. The reason I ask is that I have a dog and two cats (one is a kitten). Every Sunday, the kitten gets sick and gets diarrhea.

It's only the one day, and then she is fine until the next week. So I've been trying to figure out what she could be eating that could be doing this. I have a set food schedule because I don't like to think about what I'm going to be making for dinner (I live alone).

And on Sundays, I have a bowl of cheerios (favorite cereal). I never give my animals any table food. But today when I was eating, I realized that my shaking problem was tossing a few cheerios out of the spoon and that some of them fell to the floor.

I usually sweep them up right after I finish eating, but it turns out the dogs and both cats were sneaking under the table and eating some of those cheerios. I can't think of anything else that could be making the kitten sick.

Only thing is, the other cat and the dog are not getting sick. So I'm wondering if maybe my kitten is allergic, or maybe the other cat just has a stronger stomach. And most of all, are cheerios dangerous for them like chocolate or something like that?

  • What do these terms mean (I believe they are Jewish and Muslim, but not sure)?

I was watching the Hebrew Hammer. For those who don't know, it's a movie that handles the interaction between Christians and Jews in a lighthearted way; like Undercover Brother handles the interaction between white culture and black culture in a funny way.

Well, when Mordechai (the Hebrew Hammer) and Mohammed of the Kwanzaa Liberation Front are about to leave each other, they say some things to each other. I was wondering what they mean.

Mohammed says "Salaam Malaykam" (I apologize if spelled incorrectly). Mordechai responds with "Malaykam Salaam."

Then Mordechai tells him, "L'Chaim" (pretty sure it's spelled correctly because that was on his license plate also).

So what does Salaam Malaykam mean, and does Malaykam Salaam mean anything different?

    And what does L'Chaim mean?

Thanks for any help. And again, I apologize for any misspellings, and no disrespect is meant if I said anything offensive in my question.

  • How would you handle this situation based on your beliefs and societal norms?

For the purpose of this hypothetical, you are friends with this man. He is an Evangelical Christian, and maybe you work together or something like that.

He is 37 years old, he has a wife, a 5 year old daughter, and a 6 month old son. He is an avid baseball player, and keeps in shape. One of the nicest guys you have ever met.

A week before Christmas, his favorite holiday of the year (as is the case with most Christians), he gets a rather strong sinus infection that is resistant to all drugs. Within 2 days (5 days before Christmas), he dies.

Based on your own beliefs, and how we generally act in a society and how you feel you should act as a member of society, what would you say to his wife and/or his daughter? How would you comfort them, or would you even go to the funeral?

Mostly I am trying to figure how members of various religions would attempt to ease pain in someone who may or may not believe as they do. In particularly if you do not know the wife on a personal basis, but only as the wife of your friend.

This situation occurred to a friend of my father's. But my dad is Evangelical Christian as well, so his beliefs coincide with theirs and it seemed easier for him to comfort the family because of that. How would others who are not of the same religion do the same?

  • Does anyone know what this R&B song is?

I don't know many of the words. But there is this woman singing the chorus that sounds a lot like Beyonce maybe; who keeps singing about how she is "living my life."

Then when it gets back from the chorus and back to the song, its a couple of guys slow rapping. The song ends with the girl and the two guys alternating "living my life."

It's fairly new. I'm not sure how new, but it's a modern R&B song. I wish I could give more, I didn't hear the whole song.

  • How many here understand the political spectrum, and where Democrats and Republicans fall in it?

I just came across a question in which the asker asks if anyone knows the difference between Neo-Conservatism and Neo-Nazi.

Now obviously that is a less than stellar joke, and one that doesn't follow completely. But as a defense some Republicans brought up that Nazi stood for National SOCIALIST Workers Party; and therefore assumed that it meant that they were more Democrat than Republican.

And it blew my mind how many were bringing up that point. Which made me wonder how many truly understand the political spectrum.

So, who of you know where you fall on the political spectrum?

For the record, here it is from far left to far right:

    Communist

    Socialist

    Democrat

    Center

    Republican

    National Socialist

Fascist (Nazis were Fascist with a hatred of other races thrown in)

  • What happened to Glenn Beck's television show?

I know he is still on the radio, and I still listen to him on some occasions.

But I was wondering what happened to his TV show that used to be on Headline News? Jane Velez-Mitchell is great and all, but I preferred Glenn Beck.

Actually, what I would have chosen had I been in charge over at Headline News was that Jane Velez-Mitchell gets her show and Glenn Beck gets his show, and Nancy Grace is the one taken off the air. Man, what an unholy b*atch!

She has got to be the only prosecutor in the world that makes you want to let every defendant off. But I digress.

Back to my actual question, what happened to Glenn Beck's TV show? Why did they take it off the air?

  • Has any court in the US ever ruled against gay marriage legality?

I've heard of some cases where the courts ruled in favor of gay marriage being legal. But I would assume that since this is a major change from societal norms, this was considered big news and so got more coverage.

Has any court anywhere in the US, at any level, sided against gay marriage being legal?

If so, what was the reasoning given in the ruling?

So far all arguments I hear against gay marriage have been based on the Bible, which cannot be legally used by a judge to justify a ruling. So I'm wondering how else they can.

Does anyone know about any times when gay marriage came up in court where the court sided against gay marriage?

How many movies were made in this series, and what were their names (in order please)?

I wasn't interested when they first came out, but so many gave them good reviews that I changed my mind and want to see them. But I want to see them in order, and I don't remember which order they came out in or even how many there are.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • From the movie, "The Chronicles of Riddick"...?

The main character from the movie was a side character in another movie. Does anyone remember what the name of that movie was?

I wish I could give more clues, but I remember nothing about it other than that the movie The Chronicles of Riddick was a spinoff of the movie like The Scorpion King was for the movie The Mummy Returns.

  • I'm curious about how people feel about Sarah Palin?

On a number of questions about Palin, I have responded more or less like this:

---Palin is intelligent, strong-willed, and has determination. Yes, her inexperience is currently overshadowing all of that, but it doesn't negate the fact that it is true she has potential.

She has the talent, but it is raw and undisciplined. She needs to expand on her strengths and work on her weaknesses. She'll be something one day, though that day is not today.---

But everytime that I put this as my answer, I get a rather large number of thumbs downs. I am curious, am I getting those thumbs downs because I called her inexperienced? Or am I getting those thumbs down because I see potential in her?

  • Anyone know the name of this song or the artist that sang it?

I only know some of the chorus:

Believe it or not, I'm riding on air (?)

I never thought I could be so free

    ______on a wing and prayer

______believe it or not, its just me..

That's all I can remember. Its an older song, and sounds like the same genre that would be James Taylor maybe...?

Any ideas as to what I'm talking about? Thanks.
