The main character from the movie was a side character in another movie.  Does anyone remember what the name of that movie was?

I wish I could give more clues, but I remember nothing about it other than that the movie The Chronicles of Riddick was a spinoff of the movie like The Scorpion King was for the movie The Mummy Returns.

Hey, Vin was the star of Pitch Black, but I'm sure that's the movie you are referring too.  The black guy in the beginning of Chronicles who sells out Riddick to the bounty hunters to get him to come to the planet was also one of the survivors from Pitch Black.  That's why he told his kid bedtime stories of Riddick killing monsters.
