I am looking at a used Saab 9'3 saloon. It is expensive to service? Are parts expensive?

I have found a low-mileage, new-ish, Saab 9'3 saloon from my local Saab dealer. I am really impressed, and I really like the car. However, I am not a rich man, and I can't afford expensive servicing and parts.

In the UK, is it expensive to service a Saab 9'3 saloon, in the Saab garage? How expensive are parts?

And how does it compare to Honda?

THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

What I have found is that most Saabs are either extremely reliable, or a real lemon. I have read 1000's of reviews online and about 60% are reliable and the owner's love them and the other 40% are true lemons. I bought a 2002 9-5 Aero with 75000 miles and it's a lemon!! I bought it in July from a wholesaler, did the carfax, everything came back clean and since July I have spent over $3500 repairing it. Everytime I drive it for more than a week, something goes wrong. Head gasket, neutral safety switch, check engine light, direct ignition cassette, crankshaft position sensor and more. Be very careful and buy an extended warranty if purchasing from a dealer. Inspect the service history very thoroughly. Like I said, some Saabs are 100% reliable. As for the others, be ready to become best friends with your mechanic!!

    Saab 9-3 Parts Uk

Saab`s used to be good top end cars, however nowadays they are vuaxhalls in party frocks. the 9-3 has a serious amount of vectra parts on it,infact the floorpan/chassis/suspension etc are all vectra. most vauxhall garages offer saab servicing nowadays.

However many non gm parts will have to come from saab at saab prices.

for reliabilty and far better build quality i`d say go honda, the accord compares to the 9-3 and has a far better build quality and better reliability.

also in the honda you`ll look a lot less like a hard up estate agent/schoolteacher :)

Nice car, but not in the same league as a Honda.

Don't use main dealers for any make - find a good local independent garage & use them.
