Nordic Skate Skiiing!!?
I am joining the nordic skiing team and i was wondering what i should wear for practices. i know what to wear for the meets because they give u a uniform. I was thinking of wear long underwear with wind pants over it and long underwear on top with a t-shirt and apolar fleece jacket from columbia. does this sound ok? and feel free to make any suggestions. and are goggles required? i will be doing skate skiiing. and should i wear mittens or gloves?

My suggestion would to be buy some clothes that are close to what your team uniform looks like. You will generally be very warm when skiing. A good set of wicking long underwear under a windproof layer would be all you need as long as you don't plan on stopping for long breaks.
I don't race. I only do touring and I am usually roasting in just fleece pants a thermal shirt and a windbreaker. You'll be generating a lot more heat on skate skis.
Sunglasses would be a good idea. UV damage to your eyes is not something you want, but goggles might be overkill.
A windproof liner glove would be a good idea. Lightweight mittens will keep your hands warmer, but they aren't necessary.
