Baby's eye is turned inward, anyone ever had this happen?
I had my baby on the 22nd, she was three weeks early but they declared her perfectly healthy before we left the hospital. Yesterday me and my husband noticed that her right eye has turned inward toward her nose and no matter how I try to get her to make it move to the outside she wont. I've tried using toys to get her attention and slightly covering her eye with her blanket so she has to use the eye to look at me and she still wont move it outward but she can move it around a little. Also she didn't have this problem before as I have pics of her at birth staring straight ahead.
I did some research on the internet and some sites said that it will resolve with time and some said that is was permanent. I have an appointment set up with her doctor later in the week to be seen for it but I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced this and what the outcome was. Thanks . . .

It sounds like the same thing my baby had when she was born. She was full term. I'd notice that sometimes one of her eyes looked lazy and would slightly turn in. It used to make me mad when other people would comment on it too. But soon enough, it disappeared and she's 4 months now and perfectly normal. Ask the doctor anyway so you'll feel better, but otherwise it will probably work itself normal soon. There's just so much to worry about with new babies!

It could just be a lazy eye it is quiet common I think and can normally be cured as long as she is not blind in one eye.
Also make sure she doesn't have any other problems and if it doesn't start to get better after a few months then go to GP and Opticians to make sure its nothing more serious my cousin had the same problem and GP told us he was fine and eventually after months of bugging opticians and GP turned out it was cancer and if it hadn't been caught he would have died in months lucky he is now 10 and still has his sight and he doing well. Obviously this is an extreme and rare case and im sure your child will be fine. gd luck

I was actually born like that but my doctor waited until I was 6 months old before they talked about surgery, but mine was so bad that I had to have surgery again when I was 7 and eventually had to has glasses that have a prism in the lenses to help my eye from turning like that. Mine turned out, the opposite of your baby so it might be different but they called my condition strabismus

yes, my sister had that when she was born. she was a few weeks early as well. The doctors just said that she has a lazy eye. She has more control over it now, but when she was really little, we'd clap in her face kind of and it would startle her a little bit and shes straighten them out. She has perfect vision. I wouldnt be too worried about it.

New babies don't have that much control over their eyes. If this was random, I'd say I was sure it was temporary. I'm not sure because it sounds like the eye is always turned in.
Good luck at the doctor!
