I Double Check Myself Too Often...HELP!!!?

Example... my internet plugs on my modem and computer. i plug them in and they click but like 1 minute later i would go back and pull to make sure they are snugged in and will not come out and i often do this all day but the same results are the plug is snapped in and will not come out when i pull so why do i keep re checking behind myself too often when i know its already going to be the same results from the jump. what should i do when wanting to double check myself all the time? help!
