Your "automatic" transmission seems to have 5 gears in it. It in simple terms shifts it for you per what the computing gadget thinks the terrific suited variety must be. The a million,2,3,L are shift factors you need to use to manually set the equipment you want to be in.

D is Drive
N is neutral
L is Low, this is a gear used on steeep hils when towing a caravan or similar.
