Now that a black man has become president shouldn't affirmative action be abolished?

Update:

Ron do you feel that should apply to even the whites that are discriminated against by others of color? Or just convienently the typical claims which are only that, with little to no substance to them other than manipulation?

AHem! Ever Hear of Racial Profiling? That Is a Form of Racism, When Any Nutjob Can Walk into your home without a Warrant, search and Seize Property Just Because of the Color of Your Skin!

Don't tell me about Ruby Ridge or Waco Texas or anything else If that is the Case.

That's why it was put into place. Hispanics are the majority, then Caucasians, Blacks 12%, Native Americans and Pacific Islanders 1-2% of the Total population. Affirmative Action Protects even You and yes Affirmative Action is Still needed to protect everybody..how about that? Women of all Races are Still discriminated against and Do not Recieve Equal Pay for Equal work.

I doubt it would be taken up by the current Congress. I think this will need to be looked at some day.

I see it this way, affirmative action was like a crutch for a man with a broken leg. It kept him moving forward, but at what point does the leg heal and the crutch hinder him from moving forward?

Yes, I think it should be abolished. As soon as everyone who discriminates based on race goes to jail.

Response: Yes, I mean that to ALL that are discriminated against strictly because of their race. It doesn't matter to me if it's a Black, White, or Purple person.

No Affirmative action protects people for much more than just race.

Only racist view it only in a racial context.

Affirmative action seems unfair to me. The best person for any job should be the one hired...not a quota for race. Why is it that we have elected a "black" man ...not just a man has been elected. Everything I have heard is black, black, black. So what. The main thing is he the right person for the job....regardless of his race.

Do you even understand what affirmative action is, or have you simply been listening to the doped-up, Rush Limbaugh?

He's only half black, and his election doesn't mean there's not still rampant racism out there.

No. I think now that we have a black president, the blacks will want special treatment, (as always). If that happens, I am packing my bags, you can have America. It was good while it lasted.

It depends like higher punishments for people committing hate crimes and destroy the clan that hates colored people.
