Electricity allowance by landlord?
I live in a 4 bedroom 4 bathroom apartment. When i moved in it was explained to me that each person had a $30 allowance for electricity, so any electricity bill over $120 would be divided among the residents in the apartment. upon moving in i discovered that the landlord had place two persons inn one bed room. The land lord charges $800 for the bedroom with two people in it and $695 for the others with only one. I asked my landlord if the 5th person meant and electricity cap of 150$ He said no, he told me that the cap was $30 per room and not per person.
so in essence i have to pay some part of a fifth persons electricity use.
Is this Fair? and is this legal?
considering increased washer and dryer use, increased electric stove use, dish washer, computer, tv, common area lights. and AC use because they like to keep the apt freezing.

Its legal.
If you do not think it is fair you can move elsewhere. You knew about the allowance. Power usage is not really effected by people as no more power is needed to heat or light the house, regardless of how many you have there. The fridge uses the same amount of power, etc etc.
I think you are being rather petty.
