Wireless connectivity problems?

I'm having a little trouble with my home's wireless network.

I'm using a D-Link wireless router running off of a DSL modem. I have a desktop that is wired directly into the router, which connects to the internet okely-dokely.

My wife had a Dell laptop running Vista that connected without problems as well.

Now we have switched to a MacBook laptop that has occasional hiccups:

It connects to the router just fine - detects the signal, logs on, and can browse shared files on the desktop (so, intranet works).

However, internet connectivity is an issue - she cannot reliably browse.

I have a Gateway laptop with the same problem.

I'm using WEP encryption (nothing has changed since we switched from the Dell to the Mac), firewall is active (but that's external, so shouldn't be a problem), and the PS3 and Wii connect just fine.

What's the deal?

Update:

Perhaps I should be more clear (thanks, btw, to the first answerer). The Macbook can occasionally browse the internet, but it's intermittent - sometimes yes, sometimes no.

Sometimes the router needs a fireware update to be compatible with the Macbook. Also try plugging in the macbook directly to the router to see if it works on the internet. Also try disabling the WEP to see if the Macbook works wirelessly on the internet.

I agree with the first answer. Routers may need the latest firmware update to work reliability with Macs over wireless.

I only can say, use same brand or specification of your computers or laptops. there is no problem for the router.

if u use vista, use it for all of your computers, but XP sp.2 better than vista for networking.....

    Sorry
