In the US, does a conviction for drinking at 20 go on your adult record?

...since the drinking age is 21, but you're over 18? That would be sort of ironic.

Update:

I guess the irony is that the government might consider you adult enough to be fully responsible for your actions and get a criminal record that could follow you around for life (if I understand how the system works, which I may not.) And yet the whole point of not allowing people to drink until they're 21 is the idea that they aren't reliably mature enough to handle alcohol without bad things happening. That sort of implies that they aren't quite adults yet.

Failing to see the logic on your observation of irony. It's legal age of consenting adult... not age of drinking.

    Yes, it's on your record.

after the age of thirteen your records eligible to use against you at anytime during your life. getting them sealed is a waste of money. the answer to your question is it will affect your adult life. kind of stupid i can get drafted and vote but i cannot drink.
