In regards to the Prop 8 issue...?
If marriage is an issue of love, what's to stop people from practicing polygamy or getting married to animal or objects?

That's a red herring. They aren't asking to legalize polygamy or bestiality. It is awfully fun to play the slippery slope game though.

Exactly my point.
Maybe not the part about marrying objects/animals. If a man can marry a man and a woman marry a woman when they "love" each other who is anyone to say that a brother can't marry a sister (or any relative) or someone can't be married to more then one person if they "truly love" each other.
All laws discriminate against SOMEONE. If you're going to live the lifestyle of a homosexual/polygamist/incest you chose not to get married. Homosexual couples already have civil unions with a lot of the same rights as Marriage (adoption, visitation, legal assets). Personally I'm glad prop 8 passed, though I fear it will not last.

I don't understand why people are so upset about Prop. 8 since it was the people who voted on it. Obama was voted in the same way but the people complaining about Prop.8 aren't complaining about him being elected. The majority of people voted for Obama and the majority of people voted for Prop. 8, that's how elections work. You can't smile with pride when the majority votes the same way you do then turn around and act like the majority vote shouldn't count when it doesn't go your way.
