Please help me!! I'm new in caring for my two baby pet monkeys!?

Oh my gosh.... This is so sad. Honey, do you know that 98% of them within the first two years because their owners do not know how to care for them? Did you also know that they WILL bite you? I have to Capuchin monkeys, please take my word on this! If you do not know how to care for them THEY WILL DIE! Please, don't let that happen. You really should give them (or even re-home them for a fee) to someone who is educated about them. We run a rescue center and we have lots of exotics, including 2 monkeys. Is it lucky to have a pet monkey? Yes, if you can actually given them the care they need. If not, NO NO NO!

Monkeys and baths? That depends on the age. Do not give them one until they are at least 10 weeks old (or older). DO NOT USE ANY PET SHAMPOO ON THEM! The only shampoo I would use is Johnson's Baby Shampoo. Even though it should be safe, still do not get it near their eyes. Use warm water and do not make it to deep. Adult monkeys can swim (sometimes), but babies cannot. They can drown. It also depends whether or not your monkey likes water. My one monkey HATES water. He will scratch me to death if I put him in a tub. You can only clean him using a warm wash rag.

You really should re-home the monkeys. It would be in their best interest if you want them to live to an old age. IF you decide to keep them, you REALLY need to research more about their care. What diet are they on right now? You cannot feed baby monkeys regular milk. How much are they eating? And how often?

Do you know what adult monkeys eat? NEVER FEED THEM HUMAN FOOD! Monkeys get diabetes 100 times quicker than a human will. Do not feed them anything with sugar. They ONLY eat monkey biscuits, fruits, veggies, and maybe an occasional mealworm.

Are you aware that your monkeys are going to hurt you? I have scars all over me! They will bite, scratch, slap, 'scream', pull your hair, and more. Are you tolerant for that?

What kind of habitat do you have? PLEASE tell me you have an outdoor enclosure. Keeping monkeys inside 100% of the time is CRUEL. There is nothing wrong with keeping them inside for small periods, but they MUST be outside mostly.

If you don't actually already know the answers to those questions then you are in for a world of hurt with two pet monkeys.

There are places that will adopt pet monkeys that the owner can no longer handle. Once you get bitten a few times just go ahead and give them up for adoption rather than do something cruel like removing their teeth.
