Can deck sealer be used to protect a treated pine play set?
And will using a sealer keep it looking "wet"? The wood has become dried out and faded. Is deck dealer suitable? I had planned to pressure wash, sand and seal. It looks great after it's wet with water. But when the water dries, the wood is faded. Will a sealer keep it looking "wet" or do I need to stain it first, then seal.

Yes you can use deck sealer to "freshen" the play set. You should consider using an oil based sealer, like linseed oil. You can pressure wash, but sanding isn't necessary. You will need to coat twice a year if you use a waxed based preservative. If you decide to use the oil base treatment, it will help prevent the dry look. It will however not make it shiny. Staining is the choice you make when you want to change the color. The natural look ( without stain ) will take the oil better and will bring out the grain in the wood. Staining covers, however there are clear stains and semi-transparent stains that also cover the wood but without pigment. This produces a situation where it would be difficult for the oil to soak into the wood.

just wipe it down with a mixture of bleach and water. if you don't believe me just try it on a small piece, makes it look better than new.
if it were me though i would get it out of my yard and i definitely wouldn't let my kids touch it! please check out this link below.
