Sometimes when my dog licks the bathroom floor he acts like he ate a scalding piece of food...?
Can anyone explain this to me? After he licks the floor, his mouth starts to move up and down really quick and seems like he's short of breath...like he is eating something burning hot. Ive only seen it happen in our bathroom. Also my boyfriend has seen the cat do it too.
Has anyone seen that happen to their pets?

He's basically licking chemicals, hairspray and whatever else has ended up on your bathroom floor (Would *YOU* lick it? No, didn't think so). Bad stuff down there, don't let your dog lick it!

The thought of licking the bathroom floor makes me think I am short of breath too. My dogs don't usually lick the floors unless they see something hit the floor in the kitchen.

ha ha my dog does it too!!! It could be the floor cleaner. We use Pinesol in my house and my Jack Russell is obsessed with licking the floor after wards. I think he likes the smell of lemons? I don't know. But he does the same thing yours does. I just think it's the floor cleaner. Don't let him do it too often and keep a bowl of water for him nearby.

Most likely cleaning product or hairspray, my dogs run even at the slightest spell of the hairspray.
Either keep the door shut or by non harmful organic cleaner & stop using hair spray

I live in NY and ate my gum plenty of times off the floor during my childhood so gum off the sidewalk is my final answer!

why dont you shut the door, and not let them lick the floor.. it could be from cleaning products used on the floor.
