How can I prepare myself for a solo dance audition?

I've 3 week to put together a choreographed lyrical or modern before Dec 3. So I need tips on auditioning and practicing. If you know any good songs also put that too.

Whatever song you choose, make sure that you can connect with it in some way or another. I love raw, uncut acoustic versions of songs, like the Remedy by Jason Mraz for Radio 92.9, or One/ Let It Be (Medley) by Boyce Avenue. Quirky songs that can help you improvise like I'm Good, I'm Gone by Lykke Li are good to help with choreography or use as your song.

Spoken word is always great, if you can find a great poetry reading (Phenomenal Woman by Maya Angelou is stunning, always a big hit with the judges because it's both dynamic to dance to and very unique and confident). Good luck with your dance!
