Lyrics for first link:Grab the bull by the horns the old adage goes.
Nobody tells you when I go from here.
Seems like fate's pulling you.
Decisions have to be made.
The best path is the hardest earned.
Back and forth the struggle consumes us all.
Trying to keep a level head.
In the most unsettling of times.
Today I'll become the bull.
There is so much to stake.
I stumble I lose my place.
Pride and arrogance surrounded by sin.
Destiny takes its hold.
Fight it or let it go.
But I choose how the day will end.
Back and forth the struggle consumes us all.
Trying to keep a level head.
In the most unsettling of times.
Today I become the bull. [x2]
This walk can get lonely.
I lose myself inside my head.
No one can touch you when you're outside staring in.
Remove myself from this rat race.
Back and forth the struggle consumes us all.
Trying to keep a level head.
In the most unsettling of times.
Today I become the bull. [x5]

Islam permits singing under the condition that it not be in any way obscene or harmful to Islamic morals. There is no harm in its being accompanied by music which is not exciting.
In order to create an atmosphere of joy and happiness, singing is recommended on festive occasions such as the days of 'Eid, weddings and wedding feasts, births, 'aqiqat (the celebration of the birth of a baby by the slaughter of sheep), and on the return of a traveler.
'Aishah narrated that during the days of Mina, on the day of 'Eid al-Adha, twogirls were with her, singing and playing on a hand drum. The Prophet (peacebe on him) was present, listening to them with his head under a shawl. Abu Bakr then entered and scolded the girls. The Prophet (peace be on him), uncovering his face, told him, "Let them be, Abu Bakr. These are the days of 'Eid." (Reported by al-Bukhari and Muslim.)
'Aishah narrated that when a woman was married to an Ansari man, the Prophet(peace be on him) said, " 'Aishah, did they have any entertainment? The Ansarare fond of entertainment.'' (Reported by al-Bukhari.)
It is reported that many Companions of the Prophet (may Allah be pleased with them) as well as second generation Muslim scholars used to listen to singing and did not see anything wrong with it. As for the ahadith which have been reported against singing, they are all weak and have been shown by researchers to be unsound.
However, since singing is in many cases associated with drinking parties and night clubs, many scholars have declared it to be haram or at least makruh !!

No, even if the lyrics are 100% clean and beneficial, if the song still utilizes instruments, than the opinion of the scholars is that it's Haram.
You could listen to Nasheeds or Islamic songs that don't utilize instruments (or, according to some, the duff is the only instrument allowed).
And remember, even if the lyrics are clean, if they don't have any benefit, it can just be considered idle talk, and from the Qur'an and Sunnah we know that we need to stay away from idle talk.

The hadith narrated by Imam Al-Bukhari on the authority of Abu Malik or Abu `Amir Al-Ash`ari that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, 'From among my followers there will be some people who will consider illegal sexual intercourse, the wearing of silk (clothes), the drinking of alcoholic drinks and the use of musical instruments, as lawful Singing is no more than melodious words; if these are good, singing is considered good; but if they are bad, such singing is deemed bad. Talk that contains forbidden content is prohibited.Scholars agree on the permissibility of singing without instrumental accompaniment. 'Say: Have you considered what provision Allah has sent down for you, how you have made of it lawful and unlawful? Say: Has Allah permitted you, or do you invent a lie concerning Allah?” (Yunus: 59)

There is a difference of opinion throughout the ages. Imam Gazalli in his Book "Ihya Ulum uddeen" discusses both sides of the argument.
There is no verse in the Quraan that says it is forbidden.
Whatever we choose to do we must not allow these differences be cause a division.

the music it self is the problem not the words.E ven if you are making a song about the prophet but with music it is conciderd (harram).I don't think that you really need further proofs. But there is what my dad always say to me about music that if I didn't listen to music and even put my fingers to cover my ears from hearing it that after death in heaven inshaalla I will listen to the Quran from god himself! and by the way i always put this in mind to prevent my self from listening to the music.but as the others have answered music instruments are haram except duffe.

Music is forbidden and many muslims say it is not.
Allah says: {And of Mankind is he who purchases idle talks (i.e. music, singing…etc.) to mislead (men) from the path of Allah without knowledge, and takes it (the path of Allah, the verses of the Qur’an) by way of mockery. For such there will be a humiliating torment in the Hell-fire} [31:6]
The Prophet (p.b.u.h.) said: “A time will come where people will make adultery, fornication, silk, guitars and wine lawful”.
