Precisely how does a bullet kill a person?
Besides certain obvious spots like your heart area and brain, I am not sure how a bullet kills exactly.

depending on what type of projectile.
A bullet enters the victim, and then expands on impact and can shatter inside the body, or ricochet off a bone and travelalong the length.
Aside from destroying organs its the shock that can lead to death.
It can also sever arteries causing internal bleeding and puncture fluid organs leading to poisoning.
A full metal jacket nato round is designed to maim, the bullet is protected by a sheath of copper so as to retain the shape on impact.Hopefully going straight through and passing out the other side. This allows for the victim to be attended to by one or more members of his side and reduce the men to medic duties.

First of all, IT NOT LIKE the movies. Believe me, I saw people get hit in real life and some of them walked away trying to take cover and collapse, I saw others drop dead as soon as the bullet hit them, I saw others limb away and disappear, either get away or hide.
It is all about the bullet type, distance, and where it hits. I even saw once got hit and never bleed, others yell for water and die after they drink.

It causes trauma to internal organs, which either shuts them down resulting in death (lungs can't get air = no oxygen to brain), or causes them to bleed profusely and death is caused by blood loss.
A person shot in through the Aorta may not bleed out for several minutes and the person can still function for at least a full minute afterwards.

shock, trauma, loss of blood, obviously hitting vital areas of the body. The bullets ability to kill depends on how much flesh it tears
and destroys while passing through.Any piece of metal traveling beyond the speed of sound or close to it will do damage.

the force and speed of the bullet damaging the organs of the body that are specifically needed to live.

If it hits a vital organ, that organ will be critically damaged and/or destroyed, and it cannot heal/grow back. You can also bleed to death. Infections... the list goes on

If you really want to know. go shoot your self in various spots, and study your wounds before you die.
jk...wanted to say that.
a bullet will hit your vital organs which you need to survive, so you die.
or you will just bleed to death, .
its very simple yet complex. theres more to it though than just organs and stuff.
