The smallest room that I would use is a 10' 6" X 7' 6" room.
Actual size the table is really 7' x 4'. The playing field is 6' x 3', with 6" rails, adding a foot to both the length and width of said table.
But I also like elbow room.
I use is a 15' x 10' metal building/shed.
It's insulated and has a dart board, a bar, a heater, AC
and let's me get away from the wife for awhile.

Size of table plus 64 inches
That means there's no need to get into all kinds of weird positions to hit the cue if it's up against a cushion

You Should Have A 10x 7 room
so you have room to walk and
you will not have to worry about hitting the walls
with the pool stick

A good guideline is add three feet to each side of the table, roughly the length of a cuesticks shaft.
