How can I deal with the early effects of Effexor?

I was just switched over from Wellbutrin to Effexor to get my anxiety under control. I am experiencing some moderate drowsiness. I've been told it will go away, but how can I deal with it until it does? I'm a grad student and I have a ton of work to do that I can't focus on.

Update:

Thanks, Lady. That is a really good idea, but my Dr. explicitly told me to take it in the morning.

Lady, take the medication around 8 pm at night so you can sleep through the worse of the drowsiness. It really will not last long at all and if it gets the the point where you are not sleeping, switch back to taking it in the mornings. I hope it helps you as much as it helped me.

    The "other" Lady!!!!
