When do you start decorating for christmas?

We always start on December 1st.

Traditionally we have cut our Christmas tree the first Saturday after Thanksgiving and started decorating at that time. If you make sure the water doesn't run out of the stand (it gulps a lot the first few days) it holds up fairly well till New Years day, when the decorations come down.

We started putting up the outdoor decorations this weekend. However, they won't be lit until the day after Thanksgiving, we just decided to take advantage of the decent weather. The indoor decorating will begin this week. We've already started moving furniture and bringing items up from the basement and garage. However, the tree won't go up until Thanksgiving day (when we'll decorate it as a family), which is when I can put away my turkeys, pilgrims, Indians, pumpkins, cornucopias, and other Thanksgiving decor.

I started decorating last year a week before Thanksgiving because I thought it would be festive to have the tree to light up during Thanksgiving... and just a few decorations here and there. I guess it kinda gets you in the mood when you see all the christmas stuff out in the stores before halloween... I just love decorating for Christmas. I love the lights and the atmosphere...

I decorate 2-3 weeks before Christmas (on a weekend) and take them down about 2-3 weeks after usually.

The Saturday after Thanksgiving,

My tree went up on November 1st. All other decorations will go up on the third sunday of every November which is the big Santa Claus Parade in Toronto not far from where I live.

Thanksgiving night we put the tree up, the day after Thanksgiving we put the rest of the trees up ( 1 in every room).

My mom starts decorating, like, three days before. But if I had it my way, I would start right after Halloween!

After Thanksgiving sometime....like first week of December.

Around Dec. 13th. It's my aunts birthday, so we spend the day together decorating.
