the ideal size of kitchen depends on the size of people who cook. for obese people it should be larger and for lean people it need not be larger. if both wife and husband jointly cook, the kitchen should be larger. though the size of kitchen does not matter, unless all amenities are provided, it is very difficult to cook food.

Most people spend a lot of time in their kitchen so...it's good to have a place to sit together. As far as the size of the rest of it, I think it's more important to think about whether it's functional. A kitchen that doesn't 'work' causes frustration. eg. When two or more functions have to happen in the same place (like the kettle in a corner next to the fridge). The actions in the kitchen should flow so, think about cooking a meal and you'll know what to do. First you get the veggies from the fridge, wash the veggies, then cut them up. So, you need a fridge near the sink and cutting board close to each other, then you take them to the stove. You should not have to cross the space to do this - it has to flow. There are many ways of doing this, depending on how you see the space - just make sure it flows and 2 people can work together without getting in each others way.

Size does matter in a kitchen. I love to cook but hate my kitchen. It is pint sized with no preparation benches and a stove so basic and poky that I think my mother had the same model!!! LOL!

i don't want a dishwasher or a microwave or any of those fancy marble benches.

But I would give anything for a Eurolec stove, a range hood and some bench space!!

But we would have to give up the living room to fit it all in!! LOL!!

I prefer a large kitchen! But then I love having space to cook and bake and lots of storage for pots, pans, baking pans and such.

I think the decision should be based on family needs. Our kitchen really is the "hub" of the home. Homework is done at the kitchen table, we sit around the table to visit and my husband and son like to help in the kitchen also. And all our pets (7 of 'em!) have their food & water dishes in the kitchen also.

I had a red and black kitchen but i needed a change as its small so I bought a color called lemon fizz. Looked nice on the tin but when i pained my kitchen it looked awful like a custard or crayon yellow. So I painted over it with a dulux apple green its called but it dont look apple green color its more of a tinge green, minty color, its really light and perfect. light pink is goes nice with it so i bought pink cupcake canvases to go on the walls and mirrored pic frames and pink tea and coffee stuff. It looks so big now and so fresh and clean and inviting

Kitchen size is about lifestyle. For those living in busy world of quicky, mostly prefer small and practical kichen though. And vice versa.

I like a big kitchen because I have alot of pots and pans to cook with. I always have a big crowd and they like to sit around the island and talk to me while I cook. Would you like to join me?

I prefer a large kitchen so you are not constantly bumping into other people in the room.
