It's not all Burger Kings. There are Pizza Huts as well. LOL.
Magaluf is primarily a party area with a pretty active nightlife. But no worries if you are looking for some of the more traditional stuff to do. Mallorca is a pretty small island and their public transportation is very efficient. In a day, if you plan properly, you can cover quite a bit.
The island on the whole is full of interesting bits. You should spend a day walking through the cobbled streets of Palma, and be sure you take the legendary Palma to Soller train. I recommend waking up at the crack of dawn to catch the first train. When you arrive in Soller, you will be welcomed by the scent of freshly baked bread. You can take a tram down to their port, Puerto de Soller, or catch a bus to the next part of the island.
Mallorca has just so much to offer and you can make a really memorable holiday out of it if you did some reading up on the island before leaving. A good site for that is http://www.allthingsmallorca.com/
They have cool images on the site, and there are bus schedules, etc.

Magaluf is full of teenagers, pubs and clubs, there is spanish restaurants but several McDonald's - I prefer Santa Ponsa or Alcudia.
