He already has infact-he has now created his own legacy.

Captain of the 20-20 World cup winning team that was held in South Africa, The team had no big Fives

Captain of the winning team of the CB series held in Australia in start of this year- excellent tactics used by him in the two finals., The team had only one of the big Fives-Sachin

Captain of the winning team in Mohali and Nagpur tests of G-B trophy that finished recently-in Mohali test instead of giving Australia a follow-on he gave them a target of 500+ to chase in the fourth innings, a thing which Australia had done to India in the past.

At Nagpur test, third day started with 8 fielder on off and made bowlers bowl 12inch wide of the offstump-intelligent move that gave a valuable 86 run lead to India. At 166/6 again batted with determination to give a target of 350+. Both these matches Kumble did not play and Dravid was out of form

Dhoni as a captain has proved himself abroad and even in India-any doubts? I dont think that his team will have a problem even after Sachin and Laxman retire

No, he cannot. Because, it is not Ganguly's legacy that he succeeded. Ganguly's legacy was usurped by Rahul Dravid with the connivance of Greg Chappell. Later on, Anil Kumble had a brief stint as a captain and did not have much to boast of, except playing a trouble shooter's role in Sydney fiasco. Dhoni is now young, fresh and open minded and he must have his own perception of the game. If he succeeds repeatedly, as he so far has done, he will have a long stint. Otherwise, he too would perish and make way for some one else.

He can do it. The real tests lie ahead. He need to be consistent. He should win matches more often than not. He should win test matches & test series on foreign soil on a consistent basis.

He is tactful & resourceful, who has his own bag of tricks, and a good thinking captain. With two of the legends gone, he will need to rebuild the team for future challenges. Dhoni could better Ganguly's captaincy records.

The present team is the cake, which is made by the great Dada, and the cherry on the cake is eating by Dhoni, and he is eating better than anyone. dada carrier ends superbly with a historic winning note.

till now dhoni is an unflapabble hero but many captains are successful in our home land/ country but the question raises is dhoni capable of getting victories in overseas

Source(s): then only dhoni carry forwards dadas legacy

At least our selectors think that way.....In the present scenario, I don;t think we have any other choice.........SO let it be Dhoni.....At this time He looks the best bet....

He has been successful, although Lucky at times................But I will have people who r Lucky than other people.............LOL...........

If Dada himself feels so........There's no harm in having our faith in Dhoni...............

Just give ur support to Dhoni.........
