my teeth feel loose or is it just me?

I don't know if I'm going mad or if it's just me. I brush my teeth usually twice a day, I may forget to brush the odd rare few times but would still brush at least once If I do anyway as I always brush when I wake up.

I floss and mouthwash as well and I've stopped smoking 3 months ago as well to help look after my teeth etc etc but the issue I have i that

For possiby a couple of years now I always feel like my teeth are loose, If I put my fnger on my tooth, actually on the line where the next tooth is and push my bottom teeth so that they touch my top lot of teeth it feels like they move.

If I attempt to wiggle my tooth with my finger, again it feels like there is very very slight movement.

Now I don't know if this is the pressure I'm putting on them when I try and feel like they are moving, or if its my finger slipping and it therefore feels like they are moving or weather they actually are moving

Any ideas

Oh your finger makes it move. Try using pliers or something.

I actually went to me dentist for a check up asked her the very same question. I told her that sometimes when I put my finger on my tooth and try and wiggle it I can feel some movement. She then explained that the "movement" I can feel is actually my finger. It's not slipping, but it's the flesh on your fingertip moving, and told me that the best thing to do is not to worry about it,because the dentist can see any movement when you have a checkup. I hope this helps put your mind at ease.

hi reg! i think you really could use my advice. If you really want a smart answer, I'll tell you that what is doing this to you is your age: it gets to us all. im taking calicum only supplements that have magnesium in them to so they'll get better absorbed. I've read that if you goto the dentist every three months the x-rays will get better over the year if you take 1.2-2.5gms. Also, have some common sense, and care about your teeth. Despite what anyone else says, no one cares if you loose a tooth, which is what will happen if you dont take care of yourself.

    Try seeing a dentist

Don't worry about it. I do the same thing, and I feel the same "loose" sensation. I used to worry about this too, but you and I aren't the only ones. I don't know if it's the finger slipping or what, but it's nothing to worry about!

They could well, be lose and the best way to check their condition is to see a dentist

chances are they are not loose, see your dentist and they can take a panoramic xray to check your bone levels, that will clearly indicate if there is bone loss, hence loose teeth!
