Just close your eyes. I don't like blood either. It is no worse than getting pinched.

Accutane works. My son had it done. It takes several monthes to complete but will completely clear your skin.

ALSO: Stay out of the sun (ie no beach for you) as your skin will be a lot more sensitive to the sun, and you will burn extremely easy.

Good luck, and follow the doctor's advice.

Been there. I used to faint at the sight of needles...until I went on Accutane and had to go in for monthly blood draws. (And in fact, I had to go in a bit more often than that because my cholesterol skyrocketed while I was on it.)

Let them know it's your first time and that you're nervous...I've noticed that when I tell them I'm squeamish about needles they always take their time and do a better job (even now that I've gotten much better about it).

The worst part of Accutane blood draws is that you need to fast for 12 hours beforehand. I always brought a granola bar and a juice box with me so that I could get some sugar and protein in me the second I was done.

Don't let curiosity get the better of you. Keep your eyes on a spot on the other side of the room and don't watch them prepping the needle or anything like that. It'll just freak you out.

I don't know how old you are, but try to get someone to take you for your first time blood draw. It's nice having the moral support, and also not having to worry about driving home afterwards.

It's a quick, minute or so process. I used to completely freak out...but now it's pretty old hat.

Good luck! Even after my terrifying blood draws, and my low fat, low cholesterol diet to get my cholesterol down...I wouldn't have traded my Accutane experience.

Whatever you do don't put pennies in your shoes to meet the weight requirement. If you don't weigh the minimum that they say, you should not donate. Also, make sure you eat a lot the night before the day of and all day long keep eating so you don't have a white out. You should be fine after three days of eating like this.

Tell them it's your first time and that you're nervous.

You won't be the first person to be nervous.

I'm sure they'll treat you well and put you at ease.
