Internet Explorer not working?

A while ago I started using Mozilla Firefox instead of Internet Explorer, and now when I try using IE again, it won't work. All that comes up is a window that says <NULL> and then I click okay, but then another window comes up that says:

Runtime Error!

Program: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.

I don't know what to do!

At first I thought it was just because I was using IE 7, but I downloaded IE 8 and it still says the same thing.

I could probably survive without IE, but it would be extremely frustrating as it's the default browser for a lot of my programs. Also, it works fine on my other computer, so I don't think there's anything wrong with the actual program or anything.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In your IE browser, click on Tools -> Manage Add-ons. Click on each entry, and disable them, one by one, and reboot, until you find the offending proggie. Most common ones: McAfee Anti-spam, McAfee Anti-phishing, Google Tool Bar, Norton Anti-Spam.

Also, this problem won't usually happen with Firefox. If you don't use Firefox all the time it would be a work-around until you find a fix.

go to add and remove both ie7 and ie8 uninstall, uninstall firefox

reinstall ie7, forget about ie8 until microsoft repair some of it's issues

reinstall firefox 3 ,starting over fresh most of your plugins won't be lost
