There is a hypothesis that prolonged joint stress due to popping joints may eventually lead to a higher risk of joint damage, however, the long-term consequences of this practice have not been studied thoroughly, and the scientific evidence is inconclusive

You should stop or not do it often. You can get arthritis. If you just keep your mind off of the pressure you'll get used to not popping them anymore.

the only way it can become bad is if you do it all the time, when you get older you may get arthritis.
