Just bought a Finepix J150w, now it says card not initialized, why?

I formatted the SD card on my computer because the camera doesn't bring that option. And it works on my computer but when I put it in the camera it gets unfornatted again. I received the camera like 2 hours ago and it already is giving me a headache. What can I do? Does or has anybody has or had this problem.

You should have a menu selection for formatting the card. Be sure the card is selected as your storage device.

The camera puts some directories on the card for temp use while shooting. If those directories are not there, the card doesn't appear formatted in camera speak.

If that doesn't work, try adding directories, as follows:

On the drive make directory DCIM

    Under that 100KCD33

Back on the main card make MISC

I'm not sure this will work. Digital cameras require the right combination of directories.

It may be, when you select external memory, or card, the camera will format, or ask if you want to format.
