What is the difference between a casual friend, an actual friend, and a close friend?

Also, is a casual friend the same as an acquaintance?

A casual friend is probably someone you say hi to and chat with a bit, but otherwise you have nothing to do with them. An actual friend is someone who you chat with, spend time with, and who listens to you when you have a problem, but can back out on you any time. A close friend is one who stands by you no matter what, you can disagree with, chat with, move away from, and still continue to communicate no matter what the cost. That's my idea of each one of those...

Casual friend- To me, they are just people that I talk to and laugh with. They wouldn't be the ones that I would invite to a birthday party-in my opinion. I don't really know alot about them.

Actual friend- I know them and I've been friends with them for more than 1 or 2 years. I can trust them and they trust me. Even though we argue, we still get back together. They will be the people that I invite to a special get-together event.

Close friend- I'm not sure...but isn't a close friend the same as an actual friend? If not, then a close friend is like a best friend. You're always hanging around them.

Casual friends are more like aqantinces (people you seen on a regular basis, but if there is no reason to see them, i.e. no school or work that day, then you otherwise wouldn't).

An actual friend is someone you would call up and want to hang out with. Someone who likes you for being you.

A close friend is someone who would die for you.

A casual friend is just someone you say hi to and sit next to at lunch and stuff. Yeah, they could be considered as an acquaintence.

An actual friend is someone you can trust with a problem, and someone you talk to regularly.

A close friend is someone who'd never let you down or tell your secrets to anybody. Someone who you wanna hang out with all the time.

It's all a matter of opinion and how high your trust is, but yeah, I would consider a casual friend an aquaintance that you do not NOT like. An actual friend is a friend that you like, but you don't trust him/her as much as your other friends, and you two don't do much together. A close friend would be a friend who you trust pretty highly, and most of the time you want to hang out with him/her. I would also add another category to that list, a best friend. A best friend would obviously be someone you love and trust as one of your family and someone you will and do do everything with. (Haha I said do do! -_- Sorry ...)

Casual friend is some one you only see once in a while. AKA Party friends.

Close friend is some one you see more often and you talk or text often. Not always at parties.

Actual friend is some one you tell all your problems to, they help you thought the "tough times". You know a BFF and yes I think you can have more than one BFF.

Casual friend ~ Probably not a very close friend. Someone whose like you stated an acquaintance.

Actual friend & close friend are pretty much the same in definition.

This is very subjective. But I'd say an acquaintance is just someone you know, someone you'd say hi to if you ran in to them somewhere but you don't know them well at all. A casual friend is someone you might socialize with in a group or even one on one, but they're not your buddy that you confide in and share your most personal things with. A close friend is someone who you talk to or see regularly, who you really click with and feel close to and can count on them for anything and trust with personal stuff.
