    the proper name for bus is omnibus, back when they first appeared on the streets they were open, meaning they didn't have a roof, therefor one couldn't go in, thy went on

    u get on the bus.. because umm like when ur talking 2 someone on the phone u say im on the bus not im in the bus. the word in is for like a school or a house or a store. "im in the bus" kinda sounds weird too..

    Getting inside and getting on the bus are synonymous phrases!

    While taking Spanish in high school, we learned that the word for "in" and "on" were both the same -- "en."

    we get in the bus because you go inside of it if you went on the bus you would be taking a ride ontop of it
