Is this a sports car?

I see there have been some very misleading answers posted here..for example,someones been saying the RX-8 has a V-8 engine..indeed it does not have a V-8,the latest RX-8 has a 1.3 Renesis rotary engine(a rotary engine is like the ones u see on aeroplanes) whereas the previous RX-8 uses a 1.3 Wankel rotary engine..and another thing is,the RX-8 has 4 doors,yes 4 DOORS!! the back two doors are suicide doors and they arent very easily noticeable..and as to ur question, yes i would definitely think that the RX-8 is a sports car,its Performance is good enough to match a nissan fairlady 350z,and i think that's pretty damn good..it could also be used as a family car although that would not be too practical..well that's all i think u should need to know for now,so i hope this clears things up for u abit..

Yes, but it is not a V8 its a rotary motor! Also a lot of 2 door cars are not sports cars. Would a Toyota Starlet be a sports car? How about a VW Bug? It's the over all performance of the car that defines it as a sports car, and the RX-8 is one of those cars whose handling and performance make it a sports car.

Yes it is a sports car due to its compact size. But if plaaing to buy it your family has to be a small only seating about 5 or for people in it. but sure enough its considered a sports car due to how fast it would hit from 0-60
