Hardship License for Teens?

okay, so i'm 15, and i don't get my license till march 28.

It currently has become really hard for me to get to school, because both my parents work full time now. I tried to apply for a school permit, but i live 2 blocks away from the city limits, so they said no.

is there any other type of license out there for people like me? or do i just have to suffer and be late everyday?

- I was thinking about maybe a hardship license but i was told that is only for people who got their license taken away and need a way to work.

If you have any information about this, it would help a lot.

Thanks,

-Caylee

I think if your parents are disabled, then you can get your license early.

Call the DMV and see what they say. They give good advice.

    Also, try to carpool

Well you could get a permit but that depends on the state you live in, some states allow a permit at 15 and some states make you wait to drive all together until you are 16.

Different states have different rules, so that would have been helpful information. However, it is unlikely that you will be able to get more than a permit. Your best bet is to strike up some friendships with older kids with cars.

Are you needing a license because of a life or death situation or do you just want to drive to school? How are you & your neighbors getting to school now? Please tell everybody where you live as different places have different laws.

Surely, your parents who work full time, like most folks, are responsible to help you get there. Ask them the question, then ask the school guidance councilor. Maybe they should talk to your parents.
