somebody was talk about it on TV and say that is what them characters represent. nothing wrong wit fruit flies but why they on kid program for the kids?

No and no.
It is shows like the Simpsons and Family Guy that make jokes like that and then people run with the idea.
The makers of Sesame Street actually had to release a statement that dealt with this subject. They reminded people that Bert & Ernie are "puppets" and that they have no sexual preference.. since they are just puppets...
