Do you think my budgie is sick?

My year old budgie won't stop scratching his beak on his perch and with his foot and making clicking noises....he seems to have gone off his food and can't drink water without this weird clicking/squeaking noise noise. He's always done it to some extent but lately this is every day..I'm worried..

Any ideas??

Could something be obstructing his nasal passages???

Update:

No its not really normal..it seems as though he's gasping for air every now and then...and does a little sqeaking noise :(

What color is his beak? Any abnormal discharge? He may have the bird equivalent of a sinus infection. Feel free to email me, but his nasal passages could be so stuffed up that when he drinks he can't breath well. Squeaking is absolutely normal with budgies, but I'm worried about the no food... Watch him carefully, if at all possible weigh him, and if he drops an ounce, start hand feeding him a high protein bird formula...once again, feel free to email me, I need a little more information, but at this point a check-up with the vet wouldn't be a bad idea. Do you have an avian vet in your area? It's not expensive for a check up. I wish you the best of luck, and if you still need help, Madamesarcastic@yahoo.com

I have 4 budgies, and it is normal for them to rub their beak on the perch. All the other stuff you mentioned seems out of the ordinary. If he has been doing that since you got him maybe it is something normal for him. I would take him to the vet if I were you.

Take him to the vet. Could be air sac mites or some respiratory problem. I'm not a vet, but I've had budgies for the past 15 years and one of mine had symptoms similar to yours. She had a respiratory infection and I had to give her medication for it. Good luck.

birds often do strange thinks when caged and or stressed such as plucking makein odd noises among other things . your best bet is to take him to the vet to get a check up!
