Tampines to Boon Lay?

Can anybody tell be how long is the traveling time from Tampines to Boon Lay by using car / motorcycle?

What is the speed limit for the expressway in Singapore?

I need to know if i can effectively shorten my everyday traveling time from Tampines to Boon Lay by using my own transport such as car / motorcycle. MRT from Tampines to Boon Lay take me 55 minutes.

Thanks!

I am a motorcyclist, so I comment from the view of travelling by bike.

It will takes you about 20 to 30 min on the expressway alone at 80 to 90 km/hr, at a "riding safely" mode, depending on road conditions day to day. Waiting time at traffic junctions not included.

Speed limit of Singapore expressway reached 90 km/hr max. Usually they can tolerate unoffically up to about 100 km/hr. Anything beyond that, they can book up for speeding.

Becare if you care on the road, traffic police like to hide on overhead bridges across the expressway to snap photos of offenders.

Tampines - Boon Lay will take about 30 - 45 minutes depending on traffic conditions and if you are in car or motorcycle. I would estimate 35+ mins.

Speed limits for expressways are 80 - 90 km/h. But KPE has a limit of 70km/h. You can take either PIE or ECP/AYE depending on which is nearer for you. I personally prefer ECP/AYE.

You can definitely shorten your travelling time as the 55 minutes on MRT you mentioned is only actual travelling time and excludes time walking to MRT, waiting for the train.

Of course, you need to balance the time saved + comfort vs extra cost

Oh, Boon Lay to Tampines should be 35 to 40 min for driving your own vehicle. Drive into PIE and go to TPE after that.

Fastest and cheapest is via MRT train. especially during peak hours.

non-peak hours, you can shave about 10 to 15 by driving.
