Is the show True Blood anything like the books?

OMG THE BOOKS ARE FRIGGIN AMAZING!!! I LOVE THEM AND CANT PUT THEM DOWN!! lol

i am no avid reader by any means! actually im like the slowest reader EVER!!! but i finished the series of 8 books in a week!!!! i just couldnt put them down!! my school work even suffered for the time i read them!! i literally didnt want to do nething else other than read those dang books!! lol

yes the show is like the books~ its practically ran off the first book exactly~ ofcourse the show added some characters, and scenes and plots but along the same lines i think. I've been impressed with the show from what i know in the books!

but YES I WOULD HIGHLY recommend the books!! i swear once you start reading you wont be able to stop!!!

i would buy them online to save $$ and time you'd have to wait inbetween buying each book seperately!!

The basic plot (the murders, etc.) is the same as the first book of the series. However, the tv show added many sex scenes, changed Tara's character a lot, and Tara and Sam never had sex. There are also other small changes.

I recommend the book series very much. The author is Charlaine Harris.

So True Blood is coming back!? Are they going to do all of the books?

I haven't had the chance to read the books yet, I plan to though, some reviews say the show is crap others say it sticks to the books well. I don't know for sure.

The book series is amazing. The show followed the first book EXACTLY. I've read about seven (?) of the books and I loved every single one of them.
