it depends on how much they win
1 mil: buy everything they want but keep there job(if its good) knowing that the money wont last forever
10 mil: buy everything they want quit there job and live happily ever after
100 mil: buy everything they want plus everything they don't even need, tell there boss to F@$& off, and have your wife sue for half of everything you own and live happily ever after in Hawaii
1 bil: buy everything they want plus everything they don't even need, tell there boss to F@$& off and hope that once your divorced with your wife taking half of everything, you find a dumb gold digger blond only dating your old *** for your money and "accidentally" fall down the stairs in Hawaii.

I quit my job, i have an interest in a couple of small businesses but nothing i get involved with day to day.
I still live in the same house, i'm close to all my friends and my neighbours are brilliant so i couldn't see the point of moving.
(I do now have a heated swimming pool. lol)
I spend 3-4 months of the year out of the country, travelling, visiting friends, etc.
Nice cars, no 9-5 job, kids into private education, no worries about money.
I still have the same friends, still drink in the same places, i don't brag about it, i don't throw it around and i just blend into the background so hardly anybody knows the score.
Money has destroyed many people but i think it's because they got carried away and let it change them rather than sticking to who they really are.
Oh, and i'm STILL on here!!!

Winning the lottery is not all its put up to be.
Say you won 1 million dollars, automatically taxes take out almost half or at least a good portion of it. Once you have won say you wanted to pay off that new house or long term debt there goes more money after that your family starts calling you asking for money that you no longer have because you had to take care of a few things. You have to say no and before you can say why the family member hangs up and will be mad at you.
Those are only possible scenarios and even if you win more money or don't have a family; Greed seems to get the better of all of us.

Some people get along just fine...
Others refuse the help of financial planners, get themselves in financial trouble that it takes years to dig out of....
Usually involves not having taxes taken out at the beginning, overspending... and not having money to pay the governments share....
plus all the things you listed....

i think you only hear about them when they go mental and blow all their winnings on coke, i think most would live somewhere warm and buy a decent business to live off, it is was me, id give a load of it away to friends and family or buy super over the top presents. i mean who needs 10 million, id be fine with 8 :)
