I cant understand why this is happening to me?

I have a boyfriend whom I see once in a month,not that he is busy but I just don't know what is wrong with him, if I don't call he also don't and if I meet him and ask the reason of silence he says that he is mature now and don't need to call his girlfriend daily to prove his love,He knows that he loves me period,He insists of we getting married and tell me all the things he can when Im on his house rather than calling me when Im far. like now I have neither seen him nor heard from him for three months.the guy is 33years and im 23 years.is it true that mature people behave like this?and is this a true love or we are wasting time? please help.
