Why do people randomly give "Thumbs Down"?

I was looking through some of the answers I left and some were very intelligent answers or very helpful, and I have like 3-5 thumbs downs :( Does anyone here do that? I find it kind of rude.

    it happens all the time, these people really do have problems, their idea of entertainment is:

    -log onto Yahoo! answers to cause problems by:

    -giving good answers thumbs down

    -report peoples questions for no reason

    -report peoples answers for no reason

    -plagiarize peoples answers

    -get people suspended.

    they are really weird people, don't take notice of thumbs down, they don't effect the answer in any way.
