How do you gain points I want to get to level 2 tonight?

Get 250 pts. and you'll be on level 2. Then you can "rate" answers with "thumbs up" and "thumbs down." Just click on the “thumbs up” icon to give someone a “thumbs up” and show you approve of or like their answer; same but reverse meaning with “thumbs down,” click on the icon to show you disapprove or don’t like the answer.. It doesn’t cost you any points to “rate” an answer but, once you do rate, you’re stuck with that rating. You can’t later change your mind and decide they don’t deserve the “thumbs up” or have regrets about giving a “thumbs down.” They’re forever.

Stars are ways to show approval for questions. You click on the star icon to give a star, click on the same place to remove your star after you give it. No points involved..

Answer a question and get 2 pts. Ask a question and lose 5 pts. Choose the "best answer" to your question and get 3 of those 5 pts. back. Be chosen as "best answer" and get 10 pts. plus 1 bonus pt. for each "thumbs up" your answer received. There’s no deduction for “thumbs down.”

You LOSE 5 points for every question that you ask. However, after 4 hours then blue buttons will be visible to you under each answer your question received and you click the button under the answer you like best then you get 3 points back. Anyone, even people on level 1, can "vote" but it's not the same as "rating" with thumbs up/down.

Vote for "best answer" on unresolved questions “in voting” and you get 1 pt. per question. You can vote by clicking on the “answer” toolbar at the top of the page then click on the “vote” tab or, when you see the list of questions available in a particular category, there’s a “vote” tab at the top of the questions. Either way, if you vote then you earn a point per question and help pick the “best answer.” Anyone, even people on level 1, can vote on unresolved questions.

You also get 1 pt. every day for just logging in. It’s as easy as that!

IF YOUR PROFILE SAYS YOU NEED "X" POINTS TO REACH THE NEXT LEVEL, IT MEANS YOU NEED "X" MORE POINTS THAN WHAT YOU CURRENTLY HAVE!!!

It will pretty much be impossible to get to level 2 tonight. You need 144 more points as of now. If you answer your maximum of 20 questions (2 points each) and vote on the maximum of 20 questions (1 point each), that will get you 60 points, but not enough to reach level 2. If you give really good answers, the asker may choose your answer as the best, which is worth an additional 10 points, plus another point for each thumbs up you get- that will earn you a lot of points, however, it is unlikely you will be able to reach level 2 by tonight. It is possible for you to make it to level 2 tomorrow though. Also, choosing a best answer for your question will earn you three points, so make sure you do that(you have to wait a minimum of four hours to do that)

All levels can pick a best answer to questions they ask and can vote for best answer on others' undecided questions. Once you hit level 2 & get the ability to 'rate', the only difference in the levels is the daily limits on questions, answers, comments, votes, etc.

Levels 2 and up can 'rate' the answers of other Y!A users. Rating = giving Thumbs Up & Down to express your opinion of other peoples' answers. No points are involved (unless a best answer has TUs, then they get 1 point for each TU up to 50) in rating, and thumbs do not determine the Best Answer selection.

pick a best answer for your question (3 points)

vote your limit of unresolved questions each day (1 point each)

you also get a point a day for signing in

each question costs 5 points, so ask sparingly

you can get points by doing some of the following actions:

-answer a question (+2 points)

-vote on unresolved questions (+1 point)

-log in daily (+1 point)

-receive a best answer (+10 points)

-receive a thumbs up for your best answer (+1 per thumb..up to 50 count)

if you answer & vote your daily quota and get a few best answers you can reach level 2 within 2-3 days. (you won't be able to get their tonight due to level 1 restrictions)

u must start answering questions starting now if u want to reach level 2 by tonight.

You can only answer 20 questions a day on level 1. Answer wisely on the questions you know best to progress. (I haven't!) You will progress much faster if you get voted as best answerer.

Answer a lot of questions and don't ask anymore. Asking costs 5 points and you get two points every time you answer one.

answer questions and when they go for voting , vote for yourself as best answer. further look for questions that a lot of people probably wont answer, they give you a better chance for best answer. do internet searches for more thorough answers . also include a web site the questioner can go to . i think thats where i got a lot of my best answers.
