No change in reality.
Most year 9s will sit a test and ALL will get a level.
The results of being given a level will be exactly the same as before.
So, no change for kiddies (It was always a con). Schools, however, will no longer be answerable for KS3 levels achieved by their students, since they are the ones allocating them.
Listen again: the KS3 Tests were NEVER important to individual students. You were conned. It was only of importance to the schools who had to prove that students were making progress.

I'm in year 9.
BUT... I took my SATS last year.
So it's really stupid. If we hadn't done them a year early, we wouldn't have done them at all. Plus now the stupid marking people have gone and lost our results.
Our teachers went on, and on about how we were being given a great opportunity with our intelligence, and we should work extra hard. And we were put under so much pressure, for absolutely pointless tests. And now the people who marked them have lost our results, and we probably won't ever get them back. Apart from maths, I got a level 8 :)
I think it's good they've stopped them. Now people can stop worrying so much.

Mmmmm interesting idea - I had to so you should.
Well actually I think you should be forced to climb chimneys, work down a mine and then clean up in a factory like victorian children had to otherwise it isn't fair to Victorian children is it?
