Famous Photographers? [Easy ten points]?
I'm doing a project for my photography class and I need a photographer who specializes in crisp - black and white photos.
Any ideas?
** They need to be well enough known that I can find people's reviews on their work**

Though obscure now, there's James Abbe.
He made his name by photographing very well known silent movie stars of post WWI 1910s and the 1920s, including Lillian Gish and Charlie Chaplin. His work laid the foundation for the still popular "glamour" look for celebrity and model photography
He also did (then well known) photo documentary work in 1930s Germany and Russia, including using a ruse to get a photo session with the reclusive and secretive Stalin. James Abbe claimed he took some of the last photos of the battleship "Maine" leaving port on its ill fated trip to Cuba.

The best black and white photographer is the famous Ansel Adams.
Edward Weston, Alfred Stieglitz, Imogen Cunningham, and Edward Steichen are great as well.
