Do you think Shaq wants to come back to the Lakers?

First he went on ESPN and sort of apologized to Kobe for the rap, then saying back then his "beef" with Kobe really fired them up, and called Kobe one of the greatest player to ever play the game.

Then in one of his other interviews, he stated his never had any beef with Kobe, and the rap was just for fun.

Finally Shaq told Sacramento Bees, the feud was "designed" by Phil Jackson, restated he never had any bad blood with Kobe, and openly admitted it would be cool to finish his career with the Lakers.

Do you think Shaq is mending his relationship with Kobe, so he can come back to the Lakers after his contract finishes with the Suns? Because he said he wants to tied with Kareem in # of rings, and Lakers are going to be good for years to come, and Shaq has always had a thing for "tutoring" youngsters (i.e Bynum).

Update:

3 mil might be too much, Karl Malone made like 1.4mil from the Lakers in 2004.

Update 2:

Detroit King: I think Shaq is taking it one step at a time, he has to work with Kobe first, cuz if Kobe isn't cool with him on the team, then it's no deal for him. He can just laugh it off with the whole "Phil designed it" crap once the Lakers decide to take his a$$ back.

Update 3:

Alpha, I was thinking someone might say that.

On a totally unrelated subject: Why is the Heat attendance down to about 15900 in 2008 season compare to 19000 in 2007 (where they actually sucked big time)?

Update 4:

Good info Antuwan.

Update 5:

Thanks Alpha, I thought it was just the bandwagoner effect carrying over. I guess the economy excuse makes sense.

I really dont know what shaq wants anymore, one moment he is dissing Kobe and Phil, then another he is apologizing and what not. even if he does come back in 2010/ he is going to be a bad player. look at his stats already this yr. 16 and 7 rebound. his stats have been going to increasingly over the past 3 yrs. so if he comes back to the lakers, we are just going to see another Karl Malone who played on the klakers and everyone didnt like to watch him play cud h wasnt the same player at all.

    What up MC,

It's very much possible-- but there are a couple of issues at hand.

    (1) Shaq and Phil have a little issue- although i think considering that Phil and Kobe have mended their rifts i think Phil is professional enough to enjoy having a guy like Shaq coming off the bench.

    (2) Are Shaq and Jerry Buss cool? Let me just say that Shaq has always had a big ego. Well he accept a small salary and will he realize he's at the twilight of his career at that point- not thinking he is an all-star.

It's very much possible that Shaq is setting up the situation and trying to draw interest from teams after his contract with Phoenix runs out- because perhaps he realized that Phil's system was the system he worked best under. Although i think 2 years from now the Lakers will be a different team- who might not even need him- but it would be an ironic and neat way to end his career- coming back to LA for a ring.

A lot of it will come down to Shaq's ego and pay shrinking - not sure if Shaq has ever humbled himself in that way.

Yes....I'm not the only one that thought this. I think Shaq wants to end his career with a ring and his best chance is back with phil and kobe. But can he really just walk back there and pretend like evrythings fine after all the stuff he's said. He's trying to mend the relationships but will it work

Well it looks like he has a major problem with Phil, so how do you thing that will work out. I think shaq really wants to come back because he knows the Suns won't be winning anything and the Lakers have the best chance at the title.

Well there is that beef with Shaq and Phil, they need to clear that up first before trying to get him back...

However, even if he is old, he would make a good center off the bench... we'll have big men in the post all game if Shaq signs in 2010...

Well he should just stop talking about it, I don't know why he keeps talking about. Anyway to answer your question I believe he does want to come back to LA. He thought they could have won more titles together(and i believe he thinks even now with his age they can still win some). He may make a "comeback" to the Lakers however. Shaq told media he would retire after 2 years on his contract. Now he's thinking about making a return to the Lakers after his contract is up.

  • Shaq is still reminiscing the 3-peat days. Shaq probably does want to come back to the Lakers. Him and Kobe had some great times. I know for him its hard to forget what he accomplished in L.A.

Q: Does Shaq wants to come back to the Lakers?

    A: Probably

Q: Will Shaq come back to the Lakers?

A: Very Possible but its really hard to see that happening because Shaq is on the downside of his career. The Lakers are heading in another direction right now for their future.

Q: Why Would Shaq want to come back to the Lakers in 2010?

A: He had some great times in L.A. with his former teammate Kobe Bryant. Shaq is knows the Lakers have a bright future.

    Good Luck

On September 11, 2008, O'Neal claimed that he would retire in 735 days, which would mean he would retire at the end of the 2009–2010 season, when he will be 38. O'Neal said that he would live in Florida and go into law enforcement.

I don't think its that much he wants to come back to the Lakers as it is he has grown up and now knows his beef with Kobe was stupid. He probably just wants to make sure things are cool. I think he likes where he is now but ya still has a place in his heart for the Lakers and misses those days......................but does he want to return NO
