Tommorrow I'm having 10 teeth pulled and I'll get a denture.?

I'm wondering if the post extraction pain is bad and how long it takes to recover. The dental staff have told me the procedure is done quickly and it won't be horrible. It will be done under local anesthesia only. I'm wondering if anyone can share similiar experience?

Well you will receive local anesthetic so you should not feel any pain. what you will feel is a lot of pressure. Post extractions may be a little sore for a few days but you should be ok about 1 week later. The denture will be inserted but just be prepared to go back to the DDS a few times because after your teeth are extracted the gums will shrink as they heal making the denture loose. The DDS will most like do a reline making the denture fit more snug. Then you will probably need a few adjustments to get it just right. These fee;s are usually included in the fee for the extractions and denture. Good Luck!

When they pulled my back teeth I was completely knocked out but the rest of the teeth I was under a local and had them doing bone graft and drilling into my bone. If it hurts just tell them and they should give you more local. It takes a few days to recover but three months to full recover. They hit a nerve the first time and my bottom lip was numb for a good two months. Good Luck!

well i have had 14 teeth pulled total most at one time was 6 teeth. You cant really feel anything. The worst part is when they put pressure near the teeth. After they are done they give you cotton swaps to bite on. you will probably have to change them a couple of times. You will droll a lot but after about 2 hours everything is back to normal.

    FYI,

I recently extracted a patients teeth before she got immediate dentures. With the use of soothing OXYFRESH GEL inside her immediate denture she had rapid healing and was relatively pain free.

Even though I prescribed pain meds she didn't use any.
