First of all, the Philippine Foreign Affair should control the incoming foreigners. Money is not everything you see.

A rich Filipino who knows the value and how rich Philippine resources, will never leave the Philippines. They may have properties in other countries, but I don't think they will give up the Philippines.

A rich foreigner living in the Philippines doesn't mean that they are rich in their own country. Some are even forced to leave their own country because their money have more value if they will live in the Philippines for instance.

***Inhabited*** by rich foreigners? Are you joking?

The number of foreigners in the Philippines, rich or poor is minuscule. Case in point: walk down the street in Makati and you will barely see one. Same as in Tokyo- most people are Japanese, in RP, most people walking the streets are Pinoys.

Now , walk down the street in Paris, Los Angeles, New York. Half the people will be foreigners. In London, almost half the people are foreigners. Rich ones. And poor ones. But even there, they do not say that the country is inhabited by foreigners.

Foreigners in the Philippines are barely 1% of the population. Does not sound like 'inhabited'.

As far as rich Pinoys go, I have seen some who have ceased to be rich. They used to live good lives, have drivers and servants and now they cannot even afford a small one bedroom apartment in Los Angeles. I do not know about the 'seriously' rich Pinoys. I never met any in the USA or anywhere else.

Most rich Philippinos are smart enough to know their money will go further and grow faster here.

The first world is in a bind right now.

If you have cash to buy a house you have no way of knowing if it will be worth the price next year. Bad investment now. There is no place to rent because people are being thrown out of their homes. There are no jobs and investments are poor.

In case you haven't noticed this country is not in a recession and is no worse off than it was a year ago. Actually better as there has been growth in the GP. The banks are solid and not in trouble.

This is paradise for a poor man like me.

    I love it here.

No. But rich people like to live in countries where the money has a greater value.

  • Why would I have to bother to live in any first world countries if I could have servants 24 hours, seven days a week and 365 days at my dispose?

I could still have all the amenities in my house and the luxury including but not limited to a personalised spa.

no, they won't... that's why they're rich because they're in the Philippines... they're not going to be rich when they move to a first world country...

    Trade?

As long as it doesnt go with the foreigners coming in, I wont. This country will be left for ourselves.

OK - most of the rich "Filipinos" are foreigners anyway - most of them are Spanish, Chinese, or British. They're the same still.
